**Painted folk cupboard**
2nd half of the 19th century, Rudawa, Poland
Cupboards were usually made by a local carpenter upon commission and their possession was indicative of its owner’s wealth. This furniture was used until July 1966 when it was purchased by the museum from Józef Mucha from Rudawa.
This painted cupboard consists of a base in the form of a low cabinet, equipped with shelves covered with a door and two drawers as well as a shallower cabinet with a glazed door. The interior of the adjustment with a shelf is painted dark blue and the background is also decorated with yellow and red stars.
