Asset Overview

This is one of the most stunning places in the Paris catacombs. Built in the early XIX century, this fountain is located under the Luxembourg garden (at the place where once stood the great *Chartreuse* of Paris - a large monastery of the Carthusian religious order). Louis Héricart-de-Thury (then the General Inspector of the Paris' underground quarries) built the fountain to drain underground water and better monitor the water tables. The water has a blue-green color thanks to some minerals. It's one of the best places to have a break during a night of underground exploration.
