This stone is located near Malling Farm at the Western side of the Lake of Menteith. It Has 22 cup marks around which are a network of incomplete rings, curved lines & grooves. When it was first photographed and sketched recorded at the end of the 19th century these unique markings were much more visible.
Unfortunately the stone has been much abused since then, having been moved, damaged and much eroded to the point where the complex patterns are virtually indiscenable in the field. Today the stone lies neglected amongst other field clearance boulders within a bracken infested strip enclosed by an old wall and a modern high stock/deer proof fence. Fortunately 3D modelling can still reveal some degree of the former intricate surface decoration.
