Asset Overview
The presented pharmacy firkin is a conical cask, strongly tapered upwards, made of oak wood and painted with oil paint. In the pharmacies of old, raw materials and dry-form medications were stored in vessels of this type. Dry raw materials were substances derived from various sources: mineral, animal, and even human, but primarily of plant origin. Firkins were also used for storing confections.
Centaury is a medicinal, cosmetic and spice plant. The herbal extract activates the digestive processes and stimulates the secretion of digestive juices, to which a high dose of bitterness in centaury contributes. This plant helps with digestive indisposition such as lack of appetite, abdominal pain, bloating, impaired bile secretion, superacidity and belching.
