Asset Overview
The Convent of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de la Hoz is located in the town of Sebúlcor (Segovia, Spain). It is believed to have been founded in 1231 and remained in use until 1835, when it was finally abandoned. It was a place of great devotion, which explains why it was visited by Philip II of Spain in 1565, as recorded in this inscription carved in stone that is still preserved among the ruins of the building and that says:
EL CATHOLICO PHILIPO SEGUNDO, REI DE LAS ESPAÑAS, VINO AQUÍ AÑO 1565 I DIO LIMOSNA PARA ESTA PLAZUELA I PARA TODA LA OBRA NUEBA DE ESTA CASA
