This Class II Pictish cross slab dating from the 8th century AD was discovered by myself in an actively eroding cliff section in 2016. The stone was excavated by Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology with funding from Historic Environment Scotland and has subseqently been acquired by Orkney Museum through the Scottish Treasure Trove scheme.
This modelled was made from photos taken before the model was cleaned and conserved, so some details and symbols are masked.
The stone measures 0.85m+ long by 0.55m wide and 0.09m thick.
Scan by Dr Hugo Anderson-Whymark, 14th November 2018, using photos taken in October 2016.
