Asset Overview
A rare carving of a Pictish warrior inscribed on a large standing stone near Collassie village in Fife, Scotland. The warrior image is one of only three known, with another example found near the Royal settlement at Rhynie, Aberdeenshire, and another recently being found as part of a road development scheme near Perth. Interestingly, the Rhynie example was found close to a Pictish square barrow (burial), and a square barrow has alos been idetified less than 40m from the Pictish warrior carving in Collassie.
