Asset Overview
[EN] The historic archaeological site Cava do Pocinho is a colonial quarry cut by a small stream on the hillside of the Serra do Itacolomi. It contains semi-finished pieces and traces of extraction of quartzite rocks used in buildings and urban structures in the 18th / 19th centuries in the city of Ouro Preto. In this place there are several blocks remaining from mining activity, such as columns, jambs, lintels and windowsills for homes, churches, fountains and colonial and imperial bridges.
