Asset Overview

The pot (inventory no. 176) is approx. 6.5 cm high and has a diameter of 8 cm (3.5 cm at the rim). It features two cord eyelets and and a downwardly bent lip. On the top of the vessel’s shoulder the pot is decorated with a diamond pattern alongside nature scenes with four or five ibexes. In the middle of each a female and a male figure are depicted. The nine or ten triangles underneath represent mountains. On the bottom, the vessel is decorated with four or five flamingoes. The pot is dated to the Naqqada II period (approx. 3500–3200 B.C.).
