Asset Overview

The Pullyhour Henge, nr Halkirk, Caithness, was excavated by Prof Richard Bradley and myself in 2008. This model shows the partly excavated site and has been generated from a series of oblique 'site record' photos. As these images were not specifically taken for photogrammetry (e.g. not adequate coverage and 10mm images) the model is comparatively low resolution with some errors and blank areas. For a more detailed model of the excavations see: https://skfb.ly/IZSG This small henge monument had two phases of use in the middle and late Bronze Age. An interim report can be found here: https://www.reading.ac.uk/web/FILES/archaeology/arch-Pullyhour_interim_Small.pdf and further details are available here: https://canmore.org.uk/site/8366/pullyhour
