Bullfinchs do crush other birds skulls and peck their brains. These villains might not plan or plot, they are not necessiraly evil even. As humans are pretty big animals, we have privilege to think birds as cute. But for anything smaller they are serious threat. This scene imagines that privilege taken away from us.
