In this blender project I used a radial array to repeat simple 'cutout' geometry around the central point, I then used the lazy-unwrapping technique to assign parts colour.
Simple proportional editing with the sphere curve allowed me to quickly deform the flat pattern into a 'bowl' shape.
This was a test to see if radial pattern making is easy in blender, its a little grindy but an ok workflow. In the future I might make more, but i will plan beforehand so that I can have something prepared when making patterns rather than relying on emergant design (aka making shit up).
