Yet another attempt at my reactor core animation. My goal was to have a separate animation for speeding up, running at full speed and slowing down. I used an armature, which is the only way I know to allow multiple objects to share the same animation. Without it, every object will create a new action, making it impossible(practically at least) to export to FBX and set up the animations elsewhere. This has 8 bones and each set of panels has maximum weighting applied for a specific bone. Blender has an option for parenting an object to a bone but AFAICT that relationship cannot be exported. I wanted everything to continue rotating during the “Full Speed” animation but as far as I know there isn’t a way to do that without everything lining up on one side like it does when starting and stopping. Maybe it is mathematically possible, let me know if you think so. I ended up flipping some of the panels during that animation. The stutter between animation is Skecthfab’s fault I think.
