Relief of Sol from Corbridge

Relief of the sun god Sol at Corbridge late 2nd-3rd century AD. Probably made by a local craftsman, as it is a mixture of Classical and 'Celtic' styles. Interestingly, there is also a dedication slab found at Corbridge, dated to 162-168 AD that reads: 'To the Invincible Sun-god a detachment of the Sixth Legion Victrix Pia Fidelis set this up under the charge of Sextus Calpurnius Agricola, emperor's propratorian legate'. (https://romaninscriptionsofbritain.org/inscriptions/1137). It would be interetsting to see if there was any connection between the inscription, this relief, and any other artifacts. I would be curious to see the character of the cult at Corbridge (if there was anything formal!)
