Asset Overview
Large format renaissance polychrome stove tile from the excavation made in Rossgarten quarter of Königsberg (held by Baltspetsarkheologia in 2017-2018).
The image on it is the coat of arms belonging to one of the rulers of the Duchy of Pomerania. The closest analogue is contained in the armorial made by Lucas Cranach the Younger in 1565 (the Rylands Collection, The University of Manchester Library).
The proportions of the original engravings were changed to fit the size of the tiles.
