Asset Overview

**Retable from a chapel in Falkowa near Nowy Sącz, Poland** Originally part of the chapel in Falkowa near Nowy Sącz, the retable was stored in an attic among bales of straw. It was acquired by the District Museum in Nowy Sącz in 1981. The retable offes a very interesting example of a woodcarving, technically located between guild and amateur art. It has the form of a Baroque altar cabinet, enclosed on the sides by a pair of niches in an architectural frame and crowned with multi-storey turrets. **For more images and further information, visit:** https://muzea.malopolska.pl/en/objects-list/434 Inventory number: MNS/2499/S Localisation of the physical object: District Museum in Nowy Sącz, Poland **Digitalisation: Regional Digitalisation Lab, Małopolska Institute of Culture in Kraków, Poland; “Virtual Museums of Małopolska” Project**
