Purchased as a ‘Roman baby feeding bottle’ at auction and then gifted to the museum by the purchaser. Identification currently under investigation. Note the two (old) broken sections on the top where a handle would have attached. This would make it very similar to a Spanish botijo wine cooler.
This is our second attempt at photogrammetry on this object. The results are far superior to our first effort since we now understand how to sequence the photography. We also have a new camera; a Canon EOS2000D with a 50mm EF lens (effective 80mm focal length) used at F22. Many thanks to the student volunteers from Royal Holloway College, London, for their help with this work.
