The funerary altar was built into the base of the bell tower of the church dedicated to St. Ulrich in Žabnica (Slovenia, Upper Carniola) and is only partially preserved. The monument depicts a man wearing a toga sitting in a chair or throne and reading an scroll (*rotulus*).
The monument probably represents the remains of a larger burial site that was part of an Roman countryside estate (*villa rustica*) whose architectural remains were discovered in close proximity to the church.
