Sailor

Camera: Nikon 3100. Made in Agisoft Metashape. - This is a decorative sailor figure, carved from wood that I was gifted by a friend earlier this year. It is 18 cm tall. - This model was an attempt to create a model using photos taken using ambient lighting in my apartment. This creates harsh shadows and difficulty in aligning the photos, so the figurine was photographed in several different positions in order to get images of all areas with enough light. - Each position was processed in a separate chunk and then aligned to create a complete model. While the alignment worked relatively well, this method did create a lot of noise that had to be removed manually. The geometry of the final model is also not very detailed and not completely accurate when compared to the real piece. - The texture was created by choosing photos where the subject was illuminated from each direction. This warps the texture in some places as light and shadow mix in the texture.
