Chapel of Saint Mary, [Polirone Abbey ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polirone_Abbey) The floor mosaic of the transept (1151) represents in the center the personifications of the cardinal virtues, to the right of which the divine Unicorn keeps away the diabolical dragon (attacked from behind by a figure with sword), while on the left a Christian warrior repels with a spear the evil griffin. In a band below, upside down to indicate the "wrong way", the animals appearing in the deadly sins are situated in a meander. The theme is therefore that of the "armed defense of virtues", which also leads to the suspicion of an allusion to the role of Matilde in the struggle for investitures. High quality texture model.
