Asset Overview

The bottom-most portion of an earthenware "Olive Jar" (aka *Botija* in Spanish) recovered from the wreck of the Spanish galleon *Santa Clara*, sunk in 1564. The piece is 14.5 centimeters at the widest, and averages just over 6 millimeters thick. Concentric lines on the interior face show the jar was wheel-thrown.
