The wreck of the Solway in Encounter Bay South Australia. The wreck has been preserved by placing sandbags over the wreck. The view is from the bow looking towards the stern (bearing 20°) where there are timbers exposed. The large lump in the centre may be the base timbers of the mast. The survey was undertaken June 2019 by Guy Williams (Diver) and Nick Williams (Skipper and Dive Supervisor). The Solway was dragged backwards over the adjacent reef on 21st December 1837 and preserved in-situ with sand bags in 1994 by Department of Environment and Water.
