Asset Overview

A wooden carving of the Last Judgement hanging in the west entranceway of St Giles in the Fields Church, near Centre Point, London. There is a stone replica of the carving above the main western gateway into the churchyard. There is a small date of 1687 on the carving. The carving includes nude figures, skeletons, angels and cherubs. The curch itself (and neighbouring Angel pub) was the last stop for condemned prisoners taken to be hanged at Tyburn. It is from this that we get the term 'to be on the wagon', i.e. that was your last drink. 65 photos taken from below in March 2019 with a Sony a6000 and processed in Agisoft Metashape.
