AOC recorded this stone on behalf of Historic Environment Scotland as part of work at the site of St Helen's Church, Cockburnspath, in spring 2021, following a report of possible damage to a hogback stone at the site.
This stone appears to represent re-use of an older, larger headstone. An inscription on the other side beginning "Here lyes..." suggests that this fragment was reused, trimmed down to create a much smaller headstone. The inscription is illegible.
