Asset Overview
The Statue of Sir Walter Scott is found in Markethill Road, East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire and was recorded in February 2021.
The statue was commissioned in 1871 by David Robertson, a local builder, to William Arneil, an Eaglesham stonemason, who carved the stone of the figure of Sir Walter. Since then the statue has been nicknamed 'THE STONE MAN' - a Category C listed building in East Kilbride.
