Asset Overview

This boiler from the steamboat Irvington, which sank in 1838, currently rests at the Prospect Bluff Historic Site. The site is home the remains of a fort built by the British in 1815 and was occupied by a fugitive slave community for several years before the U.S. Army used it as a fort due to its strategic importance.
