Development:
Tracing its origins to near the end of World War I, the origins of the German automatic rifles also came from lessons in the Ostfront, where they encountered entire Soviet divisions armed with only the PPSh-41 and the SVT-40. There, they thought of a intermediate-caliber rifle that had the power of a Kar 98k and its accuracy, but also the capacity and automatic nature of the MP40.
