Asset Overview
This was a project prompt for my current photogrammetry course. We were instructed to capture standalone objects and a create a ground texture (either from a flat object, or the ground lol), where we needed to then take the high poly and retopologize into a low, bake it down and play around with the textures to finalize the scene.
For the ground I used a cedar round from a tree that was cut down in my neighborhood, the vertebrae bone of a Bison that my family found at Yellowstone long ago, and a small Egyptian statue.
This scene is comprised of around 200 photos from the three different objects, that were compiled into a high poly using Reality Capture software. Retopology and touchups were done using Maya and Substance painter. Texture maps were created using xNormal and the maps were tweaked and touched up in Photoshop.
For reference, the high poly's were initially over 3.5 million poly's, which I managed to get down to under 3100 (wanted to give some detail); the bone was a reallll pain to reduce.
