Stratford Stone Roof Tile Version 2

One of a number of large stone roof tiles recovered from features dating to the late sixteenth century. These stone roof tiles made up part of the roof of New Place, most probably around the kitchen range. Using this material provided more protection from fire than their thatched counterparts.
