Asset Overview
The archangel Michael, wood, about 1250, Hvidbjerg Church near Skive, The National Museum of Denmark (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with Memento Beta (now ReMake) from AutoDesk.
This oak figure is badly restored, but fragmentary traces of colour may be seen in the drapery. In his battle against Evil, Saint Michael is trampling the dragon underfoot. As leader of the angels, he awakens the dead with his trumpet on Judgement Day.
