Asset Overview

The Poskaer Dolmen The dolmen is the largest and most beautiful round-dolmen in Denmark. Dated to the Neolithic time about 3.400 BC. Located by Postkaervej, 1 km northeast for Knebel on Mols, eastern part of Jutland, Denmark. After Google Earth it is placed on: 56°13’7’’ N, 10°30’7’’E. The chamber has a hexagonal form, built of five high orthostates. In addition, two sets of passage-stones facing south-east. The chamber is covered by a capstone of about 11 tons. It a so-called double-stone fitting with the capstone on the Gravlegaard/Agri dolmen, located 2 km to northwest – see Gravlegaard dolmen. The chamber framed by a circle of 23 very large and densely set kerbstones. Cup-marks has been found on top of capstone and at some of the kerbstones.
