Asset Overview

This is a unique three-spined stickleback from Pink Lake in Gatineau Park. This model will be used to make fruit flavoured gummies as part of an art project: https://www.sashaphipps.com/blank More about this Variant of stickleback: This is a desalinized variant of the three-spined stickleback fish, a saltwater fish left behind from the Champlain Sea, which used to cover the region. This little saltwater fish adapted to the lake’s gradual desalination, and today lives in the lake’s fresh water. Pink Lake is a meromictic lake located in Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada. The surface of the waters are a deep green during the month of August and September due to the abundance of algae in the water. The lake is in danger of eutrophication due to human activities. Park management forbids swimming in the lake, walking domestic animals near it, straying from the wooden boardwalk for sight-seers, and throwing stones into the lake.
