This crucifixion plaque is located within the ruins of Toberelva Church and Graveyard (RO027-029001- ). This site is dedicated to St Eilbha and listed in the Register of Clonmacnoise. A small rectangular holy well is located 30m to the west of the church and is the likely origin of the site and townland name (Tobar = Well, Elva = Eilbha).
The crucifixion plaque at Toberelva church is fragmented with the bottom portion broken away. The interior of the church is quite overgrown so the extent of this fracture could not be ascertained. A crucifixion scene and symbols of the passion are visible in the remaining fragment and all have been executed in relief. Below this scene is the remnants of a coat-of-arms.
