However, he, too died during the same year, situation in which he was the only Count of Urgell to die during his early years. The son of Ponce I of Urgell and María Girón, sister of [Rodrigo González Girón,](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodrigo_Gonz%C3%A1lez_Gir%C3%B3n) ([Girón](shorturl.at/uKS19) was one of the most powerful families during the medieval ages in Castilla).
