Top of a grave marker in the shape of a wedding vase (loutrophoros)
This beautifully decorated piece is the upper part of the same type of vase that is carved on the gravestone displayed above. This shape of grave marker was used on graves of those who died unmarried.
Made in Attica, Greece, about 330 BC Marble GR.I.1964
