Asset Overview

The shield (*tas*) is one of the elements of the ritual “outfit” of the synagogue Torah scroll (*klej kodesz*). Rectangular, closed with a trifoliate arch, with the figures of Moses (on the left) and Aaron (on the right), and the Tablets of Stone (in the middle), with the initial words of the Ten Commandments engraved in Hebrew. The figures of Moses and Aaron are flanked by spiral columns. On their plinths there are Hebrew inscriptions marking the date. In the three-leaf top, three openwork crowns with colourful glasses are attached. Between the crowns, on the plaque with floral motifs, there is an engraving of the Tetragrammaton. **For more images and further information, visit:** https://muzea.malopolska.pl/en/objects-list/552 Inventory number: MHK 282/VII Localisation of the physical object: Museum of Kraków, Poland **Digitalisation: Regional Digitalisation Lab, Małopolska Institute of Culture in Kraków, Poland; “Virtual Museums of Małopolska” project**
