The stone has previously been described as having 5 cup marks and a later cup and cross on the top surface. The cup marks do not appear to be neolithic. The cup and cross on the top surface are reported to have been used by the Knights of St John Hospitallers in 12th Century, possibly for baptisms. Canmore ID 47929.
