Asset Overview

This stapler originates from the 19th century, when it was used by the Ballarat Town Hall clerk in their everyday duties of record-keeping for the municipality. Many of these records also sit within the historical collection and are expansive - made up of ledgers, papers, photographs, artworks, items of furniture and ephemera documenting municipal operations since the 1850s. The clerk conducted business in some of the uppermost rooms of the Town Hall, where much of the records they created continue to be stored.
