Asset Overview

This wreck was found in 1994 during construction work in the Uelvesbüller Koog, Nordfriesland, Schleswig Holstein, North Germany. It is a flat-bottomed Dutch cargo vessel, which could also sail in shallow waters. The dendrochronological examination of the oak wood used in the construction revealed that the keel was laid around 1600. About twenty years later there was an accident off the Adolfskoog: The vessel sank in a tidal channel. After salvage and a two-year stabilisation phase in a sugar solution, the wreck has been on display in the Nordfriesland Maritime Museum since April 1998. https://www.schiffahrtsmuseum-nf.de/index.php?id=uelvesbueller_wrack. The model has been created during a short visit to the museum in August 2022.
