Asset Overview

This is a portion of the William McKinley monument found outside the west side of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. Protests touched off by the death of George Floyd across the USA also took place in Columbus, typically centered around the Statehouse. I wanted to scan this as I found it: with pools of milk from washing away mace, detergent for washing off tear gas, and snacks/water to support protestors. I know that the monument will eventually be restored to as it was without spray paint. The messages scrawled on it are important, and will hopefully be remembered in America's history as long as William McKinley's words. They were written, spoken, and chanted by Americans who want to see their country change for all Americans' saftey and rights in the face of violent and overwhleming systematic oppression.
