Wmid-046fb1 - strap fitting

A complete copper alloy strap fitting or belt mount, of medieval date (13th to 15th Centuries). The mount is of the bar type and consists of a domed central oval, with two projecting lugs. The projecting lugs are rectangular in shape, with rounded terminals, with a central perforation. The holes are recessed on the rear of the mount. Both holes still have part of the copper alloy attachment rivets present. The central oval is domed, with five horizontal grooves as decoration in the middle. The reverse is concave.
