Asset Overview

An incomplete copper alloy corpus (body of Christ) from a crucifix, of probable Medieval dating (AD 1300 to AD 1600). Around 95% of the corpus figurine is present, with his right arm and feet missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The cross, which the corpus would have been mounted on, is no longer present. The corpus consists of the body of Christ, with arms raised above the body, head tilted to the right and slightly backwards of the arms and shoulders, and knees bent but together, legs straight, feet together.
