An incomplete cancelled reused seal Matrix of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400).
The seal matrix is of the flat pointed oval type. It has been cancelled by folding in half, with the reverse side inwards. Both faces have been engraved with a device. The front is probably the original seal matrix design. The central design is hard to make out, possibly a standing figure. The inscription starts with a cross. It reads SIG[ ]XA[ ]S C[[ ]SERI [ ]. The reverse is a smaller design, and later in date than the original face. That has a central double armed cross as the central design. The inscription starts +SIGA [ ]OS[ ]T.
