The term Zille is used for a flat-bottomed watercraft, which is still found today in the German and Austrian Danube region. The length between 5 and 30 meters depends on the purposes. Initially, the boats were a maximum of 22 meters long and 3 meters wide. At the end of the 19th century, they reached sizes of up to 30 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width. In the center of the ship was a larger wooden cabin in which the merchandise or passengers were housed. Today, the boat type is used as a working, fishing and leisure boat and is mainly built from larch and spruce wood.
