Asset Overview
Another 3D model ready for primetime. This time, we're looking at samples collected from the old Bower-Campbell Zinc Mine, Timberville, VA. In the 1950s, this underground mine processed zinc ore to be used in a variety of applications, including galvanizing steel, cosmetics, paints, etc. A Mississippi Valley Type deposit, the ore mineral sphalerite is hosted in a carbonate matrix along with other hydrothermally emplaced minerals that occur in smaller concentrations (galena, pyrite).
