The C Class is closest to the original pre-dominion design of the Atlas. The changes would have been the main saucer would have been 50m taller to hold a hangar for small ship, and the secondary hull would have been slightly larger to accomodate a transwarp core.
As it is, the C Class is built like a super Galaxy-class, with an extremely large saucer (bigger than a whole Galaxy class ship) which more or less contains a small city inside it.
This city contains long term residence for colony members intended to extreme long term transport, as well as accomodation for crew of all components of the Atlas class.
