The FDNY (New York City Fire Department) does not currently use Ford F-150 pickup trucks as ambulances. Instead, the FDNY primarily uses ambulances built on the Ford E-Series and Ford Transit platforms. The FDNY also uses some Chevrolet and International models for their ambulance fleet.
The Ford F-150 pickup truck is not typically used as an ambulance due to its size and limited interior space. Ambulances require a larger interior space to accommodate medical equipment and personnel, as well as the patient being transported. While pickup trucks can be used for certain emergency medical services (EMS) tasks, such as transporting equipment or responding to non-emergency calls, they are generally not used as primary EMS vehicles.
