Asset Overview

On Sol 414 (Flight 26) the Ingenuity Mars helicopter set out to photograph the crash site of the parachute and backshell that guided it and the rover safely through the atmosphere. The flight was requested by engineers from the Mars Sample Return program to investigate how the hardware fared through its important role in the entry sequence. The mesh was touched up in Blender around the parachute area where no geometry data could be reconstructed. The model was georeferenced to Landmarks identified in the HiRISE map. The scene measures 82m * 57m. Image Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech Link to images: https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/multimedia/raw-images/?begin_sol=414&end_sol=414&af=HELI_RTE,HELI_NAV
