Asset Overview

This Matchbox Mercedes-Benz ambulance toy car was found during a quick salvage operation near the Spartan Village Apartments on MSU's campus. Found within a concrete-lined structure (likely a cistern), the toy was found with an assortment of other child-related artifacts such as a sippy cup and a plastic cap gun. Reminiscent of the Ghostbusters' vehicle, the Ecto-1, this Binz ambulance was manufactured sometime in 1967-1969 based on the design of the wheels [1]. Confoundingly, the old farmhouse that stood near this location was removed in 1958. Based on archival and historic records, MSU did not construct any buildings in its place; so the placement of a toy car from the late 1960s in the foundations of a building removed around a decade prior is something the CAP crew is still investigating. Model generated by Jack A. Biggs using Agisoft Metashape. Citation: https://matchbox.fandom.com/wiki/Mercedes_Benz_Binz_Ambulance
