Asset Overview
This model is my interpretation of what a VASIMR (Variable Specific-Impuse Magnetoplasma Rocket) could look like. Powered by an engine similar to an Ion drive, though with much higher levels of thrust, VASIMRs could unlock the stars and make interplanetary trips much easier. This concept is an unmanned cargo vehicle using Xenon propellant and a nuclear reactor, necessitating large radiators to regulate heat.
The model was made in blender 2.81 and used internal blender materials (most of which didn’t transfer into sketchfab for some reason; I’ll revisit this later). It was made in modular pieces that were designed to be animatable if needed.
